Watch Us Rise: The Making of Women of the Watch

Women of the Watch isn’t just another organization—it’s a movement born from lived experience, hard truths, and the refusal to be silent. We are women in law enforcement who have been tested, overlooked, and pushed to the margins—but we’re still standing. And now, we’re standing together.
This nonprofit was founded by Devon Edwards, a seasoned LEO and newly minted sergeant, wellness advocate, peer supporter, and artist who has experienced the sharp edge of institutional, organizational, administrative and personal betrayal. After nearly 15 years in law enforcement—navigating systemic gender bias, retaliation for advocacy, and exclusion from leadership for daring to prioritize mental wellness and new ideas—Devon realized that her story wasn’t unique. It was shared.
Women of the Watch was born out of this realization. It’s a space built not for perfection, but for authenticity. For women in law enforcement who want to lead without conforming, to heal without hiding, and to connect without competition.
We believe in support with integrity. In wellness without retaliation. In leadership through truth, not tradition. We believe that empowering women in uniform strengthens the profession—and our communities.
Right now, this website is a work in progress, just like our movement. The pages may be unfinished, but our purpose is clear. Here’s a glimpse of what’s coming:
Peer Support Circles created by and for women in the field of law enforcement.
Leadership Support & Development for women seeking to step into roles of influence without compromising who they are. We’re committed to fostering spaces that support rising leaders—not just challenging broken systems.
Resource hubs for women navigating promotion, moral injury, mental health, and burnout (just to name a few).
Workshops and events to build community, resilience, and sisterhood across agencies.
We’re also laying the groundwork for a mentoring initiative, wellness campaigns, and collaborative partnerships with those who believe in a better future for law enforcement.
So if you’re here—reading this—you’re part of the story already. Maybe you’re searching for connection. Maybe you’ve experienced betrayal in uniform and don’t know who’s safe to talk to. Maybe you’re just tired of being the “only” in your agency, your team, your squad.
You’re not alone.
This space is for you.
And we’re just getting started.
